This army battery was installed southwest of Maisy, at a place called Les Perruques. Far more powerful than its neighbour at La Martinière, it had six 155-mm guns installed in concrete pits.

Because of the range of these guns, it represented a major threat to the American troops about to land on the eastern Cotentin coast. It was therefore copiously bombed in the night of June 5^th-6^th (nearly 600 tonnes dropped by more than a hundred aircraft).Even so, it was still able to open fire on June 6^th on the southern part of the Utah Beach sector. It was eventually silenced by the guns of the British cruiser Hawkins.
