“Gold Beach” museum deals with the major elements of the British landings in this sector from the meticulous planning and reconnaissance of the beaches through to the Landings on 6 June 1944. It not only commemorates the victorious 50th Division which achieved its objectives but also Royal Air Force and Royal Navy without whom the landings could not have taken place.
Re-trace the history through models, educational panels and documents and personal effects donated by D Day veterans.
Another story is also told in this museum: that of the fi st offi cial Air Mail service between the United States and France which began in June 1927.
